LAFC turned a scoreless first half into a 3-1 win over Austin FC on Wednesday night at BMO Stadium, with Denis Bouanga scoring twice and Son Heung-Min involved in all three goals.
Bouanga opened the scoring in the 52nd minute from close range on Son's pass. Austin tied it in the 66th minute when Brandon Vázquez scored from outside the box, assisted by Myrto Uzuni, a 63rd-minute substitute.
Bouanga answered in the 67th minute with a shot from the center of the box, again assisted by Son. Son scored in the 72nd minute on a pass from Jacob Shaffelburg.
Austin had 60 percent of possession but was outshot 28-14. Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver made eight saves, and LAFC's Hugo Lloris made three.
